You may have noticed...

It has been a little quiet around here. It's not because I haven't been busy... Quite the opposite! I know I have a few clients wanting to see their beautiful families grace my blog and I promise, they will. I know I've got a little bit of catching up to do. I want to thank my clients for their love, patience, and loyalty. With so many absolutely incredible photographers in the St. Louis area, I am blessed and honored to photograph so many milestones for my clients. Your images mean as much to me as they do to you.

With all of that being said... I'm taking some time off. A leave of absence, if you will. Of course, anyone I've currently got on my calendar will stay on my calendar. I've got a pretty full schedule for the remainder of this year so I will not be taking any more clients this year. I have been pouring my heart and soul into my business for so long and I'm so proud of what I've been able to give to those who have trusted me with their hearts. Behind my lens is a wonderful place and then I'd fall in love with those images all over again while editing. But I'm starting to feel a bit of a shift in my life and I'm looking forward to spending even more time with my own family. Eleanor starts pre-school in a few short months and I'd like to soak up every last second with her before she enters the school chapter of our lives. I've also learned that life is (sometimes) very short and that it's okay to focus on what's right in front of me. As my daughter gets older, I understand the importance {now more than ever} to freeze those tiny fractions of a second. Freeze them forever. They truly do grow up so fast.

I've seen people get engaged. Some women chose me to photograph them in a usually vulnerable state and I give them photos to make them feel empowered and beautiful. I always chuckle to myself when these women contact me a few months or years later for maternity photos. But those aren't the only pregnancies I've photographed. I've snuggled newborns. I've seen friends become parents. I've watched siblings sniff the newest baby of the house. I've seen siblings bond as they grew older. I've even had a couple of people travel to see me! Talk about feeling honored...! I'm fortunate that I was able to help a friend in need after a brain aneurism. Some of her clients chose me to photograph them when Cheryl couldn't... I have made countless photographer friends. Instead of competing, we've become a sort of camera carrying sisterhood. (Ok, so Mike isn't a "sister" but he's a fabulous friend.) And they've photographed some of my own memories!

Lastly, I'd like to thank you all for your encouragement while you watched me grow. This blogsite started as a personal space. My main subjects were my cats and food. Thank you for helping me grow. You took me to a place I didn't know was possible. I have absolutely adored being a part of your family. Thank you for sharing coffee chocolate milk, sunset story time, and your Saturday mornings with me.
